Doing club rides is what
we're about. Everybody loves to ride. And everyone loves to ride
with a good leader. Leading is a great way to give back to the
club. It's a thoughtful undertaking, requires planning, is
a special responsibility, is fun and rewarding, ...and it puts
you at the front of the line!
Think about your favorite area. Drive it and do a solo ride to get
to know it personally for the distance, the best turns, the
heads-up places, the rest stop possibilities, the scenery. Study
the map for additional alternatives. Ask someone to join you in
a trial run. See CCBC Ride Leader Guidelines on the web site.
Either contact them ahead of time, or be ready to say YES when
the Ride Coordinator invites you to be a weekend CCBC leader.
Expect to see some new leaders emerging. As on ANY ride, please-
*Thank them for taking the Lead.
*Offer to be a sweep.
*Welcome guests and help them to know which group might be best for them.
*Model safe riding.
*And again, let the Leader know that their efforts
are appreciated.
We're fortunate to have so many wonderful places for biking! It's
marvelous to have a membership of terrific folks to share the
ride! It takes us all to make it happen! Enjoy!
NOTE: Most rides will be at the moderate pace of 13-16
mph, for 25-35 miles, unless otherwise noted. If enough riders
show up for any given ride, the group may be divided into
energetic or leisure rides. Helmets are required for
all rider.Note: The
toll for bicycles to cross into Boca Grande is $2.00.
